Utilizng the website “MIT App Inventor”, I was able to create a simple app that prompts the user to input their mood, and plays a sound bit that relates to their mood.
I also added a visual aspect, that changes regarding whichever button the user chooses, simultaneously changing with the sound bit that plays. Although the app is somewhat simple, it was my first time utilizing the app.
I have created apps in my previous Computer Science classes, but have strictly used the website “Studio Code” which was required by my teacher. Although the previous app was in my opinion more user friendly, I enjoyed the MIT App Inventor as well.
One thing that stuck out to me was the ability to acsess the app in real time on my personal device. I feel as though this is a very cool and nicely excucuted idea. The other app-inventing websites I have used were only accessible through that website.
One issue that I have encountered was that originally I had wanted to have the background color of the screen to change along with the sound bit and photo changing. I was sadly not able to find any piece of code that altered the background of the app.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed creating my app and am excitied to utilize this website in the future
